Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

At this late stage I should point out to those who have not yet spotted it, that all my ramblings are about a 7ph 2 pole configuration. For a different pole arrangement the coil connections are, of course, done differently but the basic idea of the two tagstrips still holds.

Here is the circuit of my arrangement:

The little rectangular boxes represent the individual coils and the numbers in them are their relative position around the stator. The black dots show the start end of the coil winding. The circles show the tagstrip terminations and their corresponding numbers are within.
The above circuit is how an independant 7ph 2p coil arrangement looks like.

The next pic shows the diagram for a star connection:

And here is how the links for star are located on the terminal strip:

Next pic shows the delta connection diagram:

And here are the links shown how to do that:

I found it easier to visualise the connections when all 42 coils are shown on the diagrams. Of course, it was not possible then to do anywhere near as neat a graphic job as Gizmo did.

Klaus,

I am green with envy looking at your professional work.

Thanks fella's, nothing much professional here just more practical to 'tinker' with the thing .

While I did get more current (as expected) from my delta configuration, when reading between the lines of other posts here on the delta configuration, mine may not be the best. At least its very easy to try other configurations with the terminal strips .
Which is what I will do in the next days, also to give that capacitor idea a go as soon as I get my hands on some suitable ones.
