I'm working on a fix for the big images in posts situation. Its a common problem for a lot of forums: for the uploader as they are put under stress to resize their images but for a lot of people this isn't a simple task to understand; for the viewer who has to wait for the big picture to dislay and then its bigger than his desktop; and for me cause it means the web site is sending out more data ( currently over 20g per month ). I'll put together a bit of code that fires up as soon as someone has uploaded a picture. I think 500 pixels is wide enough, so it will check if the uploaded picture is over 500 pixels wide, and if so, resize it down. This will all happen automatically. Will post a message when its up and running. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Thanks Gizmo, I thought there was a section in HELP or FAQ that dealt with this. cheers, Gordon. ps: there is a section in the forum help about posting pics and how to do it. I would rather see 600 or 500 as the max horizontal pixels though. We are not intending to publish works of art here. become more energy aware |

Yeah there are a few helpful hints in there, but I know myself I dont tend to read those things. I figure if I automate the process it will make the problem go away forever. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
