Greetings to all, first post for the new guy. I have been reading posts in this website with relish for some weeks now and I would like say well done to the founders and contributors of the site !!!. Anyway my question is about grid tie inverters, is it possible to feed two or three windmills through one inverter ?. I am aware Latronics is releasing these units soon and with capital works coming on the house incl. pv array, I reckon my wife has agreed for us to play with 2 to 3 grand for wind .At the same time I was recently advised by local solar rep here in S.A. that you just can't do grid-tie wind here, it's not legal. Is this the case?. Anyway, regardless I am waiting for first F&P to arrive, and start tinkering. fuzzer

Hi fuzzer,
The grid feed in tarif is specific with the wording "PV feed in tarif". The aim of the premium tarif is to offset daily peak demand with solar RE. This is why the premium has a high $ value.
Wind RE occurs to some extent during a similar part of the daily cycle, but not always. This is why my setup is quite specific, in that I do not export the wind RE. This is consumed within the base loads of my house.
WRT your question Re parallel connection of windmills to a single inverter. Without some form of voltage regulation on each windmill, load sharing differences between windmills might occur as the differnce in wind exposure changed between windmills. A battery could still be a useful component in a multiple windmill setup. Gordon.become more energy aware
