Is it possiable to build tower sections like the big boys do , radio towers?
If I took electrical conduit and welded them together would it work? Just wondering.

If your going to put anything of substance on top of it something stronger would be advisable.

Electrical conduit in this part of the world is not that robust at all. Normaly PVC plastic but in the old days rolled steel with an unwelded seam.

Whats it like over there? Material, diameter, wall thinknes etc.

you can get it at Home Depot 1" 1.5"etc... (sorry don't know the conversion)
It's aluminum or metal. THe stuff electicians use on industrial jobs, the ones that lead to a junction box. Not that expensive.

Hi BB ,

Steel elect conduit is very thin walled , you would have to be an experienced welder with a good mig ( for steel ) tig ( aluminum ) or you will be blowing holes in it every time you arked up ,also it would need to be built with mulitudes of triangular braces as well as stay wires . In my opinion spend the money and buy heavy wall 3" pipe or similar... Phill...
