Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

How come I see Australia for everyones location?
Are they just to hard to build or find parts in the states?
Don't mean anything by it, just wondering.

Or is it just not caught on over here?
Or is the electricity to expensive over there?

Like I said, I am just wondering, don't want to piss anyone off.
ME drummer. I like to hit things ;)

Well BBDrums i guess its just because this site was started by an Aussie mate! You can check out how it all began in the ABOUT US section but basically Glen aka Gizmo started the site to display his windmill projects and exchange info and ideas about electronics, and windmills etc. There are mostly Aussies in the forums but there members from all over, a few from the States like urself, so maybe this is just the best windmill forum in the world! Cheers Sodes

Hi BBDrums

I think its just that the site started here in Australia so tends to attract Australians, birds of a feather stick together sort of thing. Plus most of the projects are based on the F&P motor, which is easy to get in the Australasian region, but very rare in the America's or Europe.

There is an American based site called Other Power, with its own forum Fieldlines, though its very different to TheBackShed in information and manner ( I think they are a little rude sometimes , dont dare ask a dumb question ). The guys from OtherPower have a lot of good information on an axial flux windmill design built from scratch with home made coils and Neo magnets, its a good site.

We do have a lot of members from America ( and other countries ), all are welcome, its one planet as far as I'm concerned.
