Hey guys, new to this. I built a small VAWT out of plastic pipe, a broomhandle and 2 rubbish bins. Thought you might be interested. I wanted something cheap, that didnt need metalwork, and worked in imperial as well as metric units. Let me know what you think. I'm also hoping the combination of wood and plastic will cut down transfer of noise from the generator to the mill. Hopefully someone else can use the design. Good first effort Sam. As you say on the last pic, you'll need to find a generator to match the power potential. Forget the F&P, something much smaller will be less likely to stall it. Now you've done the easy stuff and made a mobile, the real work begins with making it produce power. Good luck with your project. ![]() was working fine... til the smoke got out.
