Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi Forum
Been reading all your info on removing the motor from the F&P to make a wind turbine and decided to give it a go
Glad i did, otherwise i,d still be swinging the big hammer into the old machine.
I did manage to get the bearing housing out a bit quicker than the prescribed method of drilling a lot of holes in the plastic tub. The stihl pruning chainsaw works a treat. Just for the record i am experienced with this thing, so don't try it unless you're confident.
PS I might be needing some help with the electricals as they're not my strong suit but i'll follow your well documented notes until then

Try it! It's crabtastic

Fantastic crabtastic,
I'm guessing you'll have no problems making wooden blades when the time comes. Eh?
No problems as far as help with the electricals if needed. We've got lots of self appointed experts here like me, and even a few who know what they're doing. ha ha.
Seriously though, if you can't work out what's needed from the site, then ask. There's often several ways to work around a problem if you need to change things a bit.
The main thing is to enjoy the work and make some power.
was working fine... til the smoke got out.
