Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi everyone! I am in the process of putting together a flat plate p.m.alternator using 100mn x 20mm x 5mm neo magnets! In relation to the measurements where does north and south need to be?Still searching for that pearl in the sandy gusset of life.

I would expect that magnets of that size would be difficult to handle. I had trouble enough with the 25mm x 25mm x 12.5mm blocks I used.
Gordon.
PS edit:
These magnets appear to be large, long and thin. useful on a large dia machine. alternating N-S is a good start when making an alternator.Edited by GWatPE 2008-10-28become more energy aware

Post a diagram and I am sure someone will show you which way they go around.

The N&S is set when they are made, hopefully either side of the flat surfaces ie 100x20.
