Hey guys,
I am making a super small, fast running mill to charge AA battries will the dc permanent magnet slot car motor i have work?
If your not living on the edge your taking up to much space!

Hi David

Probably not, they are low voltage motors and you would be lucky to get over 1 volt as a windmill. A better motor would come from a old printer, but you wont really know unless you build the windmill and try a few different motors to see what gives the highest voltage.

Hi Glenn,
I hooked up my little slot car motor and made a little vawt with a laundry detergent cap placed a large funnel to channel wind to one side and its pumping out 3 volts in a 7mph wind.
I think the funnel helps a lot!!!!

This is my changes so the wind will start it instead of a tornado
its made from a slot car motor,fishing reel with gears removed, old fan blades, pvc pipe & a rubber band.
I have seen three volts out of it so far

   Please tell me how I have done on my first attempt at a wind generator, thanks guys
