Sounds like you are measuring DCVolts between the wires. Can you confirm this? Gordon. become more energy aware |

Hi Oil Farmer. You have 3 wires. Try this, pick any two wires, and switch your multimeter to read AC volts. When the wind blows, take a few readings and see what you get. Let us know. Be carefull, the LG, oike the F&P, can make lethal voltages if your note carefull. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Something weird there. I would expect 52 volts, not 0.52 volts. Any chance of a picture of the motor. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

I found a file but it was a empty zip file. Try using the image upload button ![]() It sounds like you may have a generic induction motor on your windmill. The F&P's or LG motors we commonly use are much bigger, about 270mm diameter or bigger. But the type of motor you have can be modified to work, it means a little lathe work and buying a few magnets. This thread is supposed to be about LG brushless DC. This would not be the case given the data to date, and the labels given above are a bit of a givaway that you have an induction motor. There is no similarity really between a brushless DC motor/alternator and an induction motor. Sorry, except that there is a stationary part, and another part that rotates in both units. The LG should resemble pictures of F&P units that are in the articles section. Gordon. become more energy aware |
