Hi all,

My batt bank is 24v 12v X 2 batts in series
(6 Parr strings)

Each batt is 50AH so 300AH yes? (6 x 50AH)

anyway the question is that my 24v wind turnbine needs a fair bit of wind to charge at a 24v setup so other than making up a cap doubler....

i stuck the mill accross one of the 12 v batss and it is happily putting 3-7 amp average in light winds into the 12v batt

The question is will the other batts in the series/parr arrangment absorb the extra charge the one batt is taking or ...or will it stuff the batt or what?

Thanks....

Useing conventional current flow for the sake of ease here but I think you get the drift.

Yes this is bad. You'll end up overcharging the single battery and draining the battery in series with it. This will damage the batteries if left for two long.

I was going to suggest using a 12 to 24v inverter ( available from auto shops for driving trucks lights off a single 12v battery ), but they only supply 24 volts and you need more than that to start charging a 24v battery bank. Maybe someone else has a easy solution.

If you can, put a charger across that batery thats a bit low, you need to keep the batteries equalized ( same voltage ).
