Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Have had some fun with strong Northerly winds this week.
Noted the F&P mounted bearings are fine but using even
doubled F&P plastic flanges is not really strong enough.
So have made up steel flange with collet to lock turbine
to shaft. Now where are those, is it 72' Nissan tail
shaft yokes?
For about most of three days this week had wind up to 40-
45kms. Both F&P made am pretty sure 60amps at one point.
Tried to get a pic of it happening but best saw was
53amps.
Here is pic of my board which really works well and if in
case of emergency I just grab keys in top right and go

The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going.

Yes it is the shaft prop mount. Have used the F&P
sprocket mounts both sides for many months and no problem
but this time they came loose. I have made up some
plates with a tight fitting collar with grub screw
locking to shaft. But there is no excuse for not over
designing as all the good advice on this site has made
all aware of. A lathe or access to one would help heaps.
Two mills are both dual stator, one is an 80 star/delta,
I think, and the other is rewound with 105 wire and right
now has been wired in a 24volt config. Son does the
electrical and not here at present but he tells me it
will do even better setup for 12volt.
Yes the melt bit is pretty old, sorting out a dump load
caused it near as I can remember.
