Are any of you guys using the new 250 watt “plug & play” grid tie inverters that are advertised on the web? I would like to know if they really work? It sounds pretty interesting, very simple & no batteries. Thanks for your comments. Wes LeMarr |

Wes , if they are not on the list of grid - tie inverters that meet Australian standards then they would be illegal to use here . PhillM ...Oz Wind Engineering..Wind Turbine Kits 500W - 5000W ~ F&P Dual Kits ~ GOE222Blades- Voltage Control Parts ------- Tower kits |

A 250W inverter sounds a bit like a toy. I would need 1 per panel, so that would make 19 inverters I would need on my place. These are the sort of inverters pedalled to councils for solar street lights. They promote them as green street lights. The power sold during the day offsets the power to operate the light at night. Hmmm 6KWH/day is not too shabby. Not a lot of mills make that much on a daily basis. Batteries will still be needed to even out the input to a consistent output.... will be hard to keep up 24/7 with a F&P I suspect. ..........oztules Village idiot...or... just another hack out of his depth |
