Ropatec Has anyone on the forum ever built one of these? It'd make a dandy air pump, eh? Here's the link information: Ropatec I've tried and tried to make the link work and just can't get the hang of it. I even tried HTML to no avail! If you have trouble (you will!), just click on the little yellow finger at the top of the page that says "Back to Homegrown Power". That will take you to the front page and it's a link down near the lower right side that says "Click Here". I've been on this forum for months and only today realized there was a front page with oodles of intriguing information. You'd also think by now I'd have figured out this link thing too, right? NOT . . . Duh! HEY! The link worked for a moment. Now it's messed up again. Go figure! ![]() Nothing difficult is ever easy! I fixed that link for you, what internet browser are you using? I do like the Ropatec, and I've been tempted to build one. The power is good, and they are nice and quiet. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Gizmo: Thanks! I'm using Safari on a Mac. I must be using the caveman version, I dunno; just can't seem to get a handle on this link and picture-posting thing. I sent you a private email; I'm putting the finishing touches on a very exceptional air motor this week. Maybe next week I'll build a Ropatec! :O) Nothing difficult is ever easy! That looks like the same bug that I've seen we get with Google Chome, it inserts hidden line breaks into the text, which throws out the link code. Put simply, Safari ( and Google Chrome ) are trying to be smart and formatting the text for you, but they are in fact stuffing it up. http://www.thebackshed.com/windmill/articles/TownsvilleStran dWindmill.asp MacGyver do you have access to a PC with either Internet Explorer or Firefox? It would be interresting to see if you have the same problem on another PC. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

I'll try my next post containing a link using Firefox; maybe that'll be the trick here. I haven't even touched my PC for about 6 years! I don't even know if it will operate after such a long siesta. Other Stuff: Latest air engine is almost a go. Here's a little teaser: One 'cylinder', one 'piston', 12" stroke, piston's power stroke is 345 degrees; runs on low- pressure compressed air, is positive displacement and has 2 moving parts. Figure that one out! Hint: It's 'non-traditional' rotary; not sliding vane. Nothing difficult is ever easy! MacGyver; This has style! if power out = appearance then I would say a dandy engine for pumping air. If anyone is interested in using hot water to heat their home then a heat pump compressor would do a fine job transfering energy to a water reservoir through a heat exchanger. What I like about the Heat pump cycle is the efficiency ratio 3 to 1, If this turbine can produce 1 hp. at 15 km. wind (746 watts) the heat output would be over 2000 watts. Time has proven that I am blind to the Obvious, some of the above may be True? |
