Tomorrow my magnet wire and strongest noes available come in the mail.. I bought 440 FT of 14 AWG magnet wire, 16 N52 rectangle neos as pictured below, and 50 extra small neos as pictured.. ![]() ![]() Obviously I want to try to make my own PMA, and if I have enough wire, I would like to re-wind the ceiling fan alternator I been working on.. But we will see.. Does anyone have any links or information they can point me to regarding coil shapes, number of turns, and other information? I know people are going to say I should have bought different magnets, wire size, etc, but too late for that now.. Any help/resources will be appreciated |

Hi Floodrod Ed has put together a few different alternators, http://www.windstuffnow.com/main/ And of course there is Other Power and Hugh's sites http://www.otherpower.com/ http://www.scoraigwind.com/ And Ben has a few interresting idea's as well. http://www.gotwind.org/diy/index.htm More on the Links page. http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/Links.asp You should be able to scale down any of the designs to suit your magnets. It will be a fun project. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
