Hi fellow constructors, I've just received 3 parts from Trev's foundry and fibreglassing works.
I received a milled shaft ,a bearing holder and the cast hub for adapting blades.
Let me tell you the workmanship is first class and these parts along with other parts he makes are well worth investing in if you want . The material is aircraft quality magnesium/alloy and he has cast them very neatly and the finish machine work is smooth and accurate-no hammering or force needed. Bronze spacers are included where necessary.

Trev,well done ,now it's out to the workshop to get Er up and running. Thanks for everything.

Glenn, I hope you don't mind me telling the crowd about something that will help a hell of a lot for the guys who haven't got the machine tools.

G'day Bruce I'll second that. I got one of his hubs, its not flying yet but it is a nice piece of work.
Particularly with a prop hub all the angles and spacing need to be spot on, although this is a diy site some things are still best done by pro's.

the extra milling of the spline on the original shaft is to take another rotor. The bearing housing is longer than the nylon type from F&P and Trev has replicated the bearing housing and retaining rings at both ends. You can now very easyily build a dual stator/rotor with this combination of bearing housing,extra milled shaft. and blade hub.
The other part I'd like is the spinner and nacelle the way he has made it in fibreglass.

hi bruce i think a shaper at tafe might be good for putting extra spline on the f&p shaft just follow the spline that is there with a tool shaped to the splines shape,maybe on a lathe to just hold the chuck/shaft from turning and the tool moving/cutting in a horizontal plane
