hi all had a play with series/pararel switching the dc side and on a 100 stator 7p3p theres gain down low in series but went extremely backwards when switched to pararel soo another waste of time. next i wired all the poles in 7phase series 7p6p and that shifted the otherwise no low rpms power down low with good results and not too much lost up at 1k rpms with no flash switching relays and gear.the 80 series wired 7p3p still out deos the 100 7p6p down low but looses up high it all depends on your site and average wind speeds,if anyone wants the circuit say so and ill post to highlander to scan if needed. matt down south |

HI matt.,
Just put a 7/6 1.0mm up today on a direct drive 11 foot 3 blade mill --waiting for the wind, (as usual) ..
will let u know if I,m excited , otherwise it's back to the drawing board.
It looked like it was going to start turning in a slight breeze, but our wind died off after that --
By the way, has anybody else had any success with the new rotors/stators ??? please, would like to know....

hi Bruce i recond a 80 series 7p3p and a 100 series 7p3p twin would be a good coggless combination on one shaft, the 80 7p3p is good for low rpm cutin at 220rpm and it would give the blades a change to get spinning well before the 100 series cutin at 450 rpm,at 500 revs 300 watts,at 700 revs 410 watts,at850 revs 470 watts and 1000 revs 600 watts of useable power. how many watts did you get out of the 60 series 7 phase? matt down south |

Hi Matt, ,I put the .6mm up and got good low rpm results in the voltage dept. ,but I think I only got around 100 watts out of it --but ,really, the wind has been very weak here for what seems like Months now ,so unless there is a storm ,then I have nothing to go by.
I might go buy another new type Rotor,so I can make up a twin rotor/stator unit ,as I 'm nearly convinced that the cogging issue is resolved now..
Looking at my 1.5 to 1 belt drive yesterday ,I'm not giving up on that yet,may get going on a set of wider/longer blades soon as I have the "Trev" cast hub and it has the 35 degree twist in the 3 blade attachment arms,so maybe carving the blades will be much more simple ,just put some twist into them.
Anyhow, have to wait for decent wind before I make any more assumptions-One day ,One day ,haha.
having fun
