finished building a minimill as per the web site instructions, got it up in the air, but as usual no wind since I put it up.

Had a look at the other motor in the FDD and thought it looked a bit like a f&p / sealey, thought I might have a go at doing something with it..
pulled the board off it, and started to rewire it to star config..
bit of a fiddley job, yes that is a magnifying glass, eyesight not as good as it was...

got to practice my soldering, bit rusty tho, slaped some selastic on it

Made a boss for the fan blades out of a bit of pine,

and spinning it by hand can ger 0.6 volt AC out of two of the 3 wires( not quick enough to capture it at 0.6, only got it at0.4 and 0.3 volts

will get a bridge rectifier or 3 and see what it will do, well that waisted a day or two, will keep you all posted when I finish it.

Good work Grolly. Sorry to hear the days work was a bit low on output, but its all a learning exercise.

If you have another one, try using it in standard trim first, see what voltage you get before you reconfigure it.
