Hi

I bought similar blades (6.8Ft)from ebay seller "magnet4less". The parcel arrived today from the USA. They are a piece of junk, not worth even making a hub for it.
This blades look the same as the one from ebay seller "powermax".
If somebody wants them for anything: free pick up from my place- Mooloolaba 4575.

I will order set off blades off a Lotoka turbine, any info on a good price is welcome.

It didn't make my day

Cheers Harald

Hello Harold, sorry to hear of your disappointment. They look ok in the photograph, but !!.

Tell you what,, I got a set of Trev's fibreglass blades-why don't you come down here to Mt. Tamborine and have a look at them ?. You'll be impressed.

I haven't set the hub attactments in them yet,so you'll see what I'm going to do . I've half made the hub platform and disc brake ,plus the ribbed drive pulley.

I'd like to take up your offer on those blades, please save them for me.. I could swap you for something that would be useful to you.

But ,if you can't come down , Ilda and I could come up for the day and see you.

Regards

Bruce

Hi Bruce

I will save the blades for you. I don't have time to come down to your place.
I did some research regarding blades and the blades from Aeromag used on their Lakota wind turbine did very well in test in Germany - the lowest noise level.

Call me before you came up. 0754784005 or 0428199818

cheers Harald

Trev and I are finally starting to make some progress on a set of blades to suit the single rotor F&P windmills. Its been my fault, tied up with other projects. But the cad work is almost done, and the CNC router is all cleaned up ready to start machining.

Its 2.4 meters diameter, with a TSR of 6, profile NACA 2410.
Still some time away, I need to rout out the blank, then Trev can make some moulds to make the blades in fibreglass.

Hi Robert

Maybe the set of blades I received are just a one off.

The ebay seller contacted me and said he had never a complaint and is willing to refund them without the shipping coats. I paid 62USfor the blades and the shipping was the same amount. Not worth sending back.
The ebay seller has a 100% positiv feedback.
When Bruce picks them up he can report on this.

cheers Harald

hi all, well i am in the US of A, my blades were delivered to the hotel today, and i am very happy with the one I unwrapped. It wants a file over a couple of small dags stuck to the fiberglass, maybe 2 minutes work.
I will be putting these together soon as I can after I get back to OZ, and will report back. If they live up to my expectations i will be buying one of the larger sets, maybe 3 m to gear up a F&P

Hi Robert ,, I purchased a set of fibreglass blades from "Art" over that way a couple years back. I had to finish them off and paint etc. They are a bit on the slender side for the F&P --but I'll try them again one day on the non-cogging F&P .

Have a safe trip ..

Bruce

hi Bruce well they look pretty diferent to mine. i put mine up about a month ago on my chinese mill. They produce miniscule noise and are at least as good as the chinese blades. The windmill has been sitting on 6 to 10 amps into the 24v batteries for 5 days now with the southerly. i am looking forward to putting them on one of the F&Ps

Hi Robert,,

I'd like to come down to look at your solar and wind gear one day , please.

I'm at mt.Tamborine ,so down the concrete freeway to lismore wouldn't be a long drive . Very interested in those BP panels ,any pic's and did you buy them for the rebate ,Etc?. 1770 watts ,wow, in our area thats about all we'd need.
Oh, Happy New Year,

Bruce

Hi Bruce, you are welcome to come down. I ended up buying a kit from BP they had everything except the brackets to hold the rails to the roof. I was very impressed. I hope to have the solar guy sign off on it tomorrow so i can apply for the rebate and the renewable energy certificates.

OK Robert,, Good to hear about the install,, I heard ERGON has dropped their price a couple hundred dollars and uses SHARP pv's.

I'll get down sometime this Month,,will call you first.

Any pic's of the interior of the inverter and panel install. Were they adament to where you installed the panels ,IE,could you install them on your DIY tracking panel-so far our first quote specified the roof only.. Wanted engineers certificates for the tracking frame ,Etc.-even the conduit with the supply cables was a problem, how deep, whats the drop, what type of cable, what color, hows it attached to the beams ,---

Hello out there,, well Harald sent me those chinese blades he spoke about at the top of this topic...

What junk ,,,, I reckon they were put together by a mob of 3 year old kids , they are as rough as you could ever imagine .
How someone or worse still a company could send these to a customer ,, I don't know.
The edges are absolutely shocking,no sanding,no filling and the rounded tips are a joke,so rough. the profile is reasonable ,but the things seem to have been pulled out of the mould early and there are depressions along the length.Lots of bog required to fair these blades out ,I'm telling you.

Harald and I talked about these yesterday, I thank Harald for sending them to me and I can assure everyone out there never to buy these .

I will one day bog them and do some serious sanding and grinding of the edges ,they are 1 metre long ,maybe be fairly good for a small gennie. But serious work has to be done to bring these up to good looking blades.

Thank you Harald, he's wisely going to lakota blades ..

I'll probably pass these on to a keen interested 'starter" when I meet him..
