Hi everyone.

I wanted to make a weathervane. Looked on the internet for ideas, and all the weathervanes I saw had the usual rooster or boat or flag. Nothing took my fancy. I really wanted something uniquely Autralian, something true blue Ozy.

What do you think?

Unfortunately the boxing kangaroo is copyrighted, so I cant sell these things. But its given me some ideas for other Ozy weathervanes, like a Emu or Wombat. All the sheet work is lasercut from 2mm zinc plated steel.

Hi Glenn,

THis is one of my desktop wallpapers on xubuntu 7.04

because for me, real Australia means Steve Irvin, Crocodile Hunter and everything about australian wildlife.

But in the rest of the world, kangaroo is Astralia's badge. So, I think you can make another kangaroo with a baby kangaroo in his pocket.

For any "stranger" like me, you can download this wallpaper from here: http://www.australiazoo.com.au/crikey/desktops/Edited by vasi 2007-09-30

Glenn,

Not being as clever with my hands as you I lashed out and spent $10 for a weather vane (cock!), rain gauge and huge thermometer, all available from Australia Post offices.

I am also astounded there are no electronics hanging off that roo!

Yeah, and only 1 moving part!

Its a bit like using a stick stuck in the ground to tell the weather. Stick has shadow, its fine. Stick has no shadow, its overcast. Stick is wet, its raining. Stick fell over, big storm.
