I love the website, its well done and interesting for someone like me that doesn't know any thing about windmills, but think it would be great to have one. I was wondering why a solar panal can not be rigged up to a windmill to turn the turbine or blades when there is insufficiant wind speed? It sounds to simple to not have been thought about before, so there must be a god explanation. Thanks Why take life seriously... You never come out alive!! |

Everytime we convert one energy source to another we have a loss. Yes the power from a solar panel could be used to drive a motor, that then drives the windmill, that then charges our batteries. But it would be easier to use the solar panel to charge the batteries directly, less steps to loose power. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. Thanks Glenn, that does make more sense providing the solar panel can do an equal job. I guess I wasn't thinking as far ahead as the batteries, I was still back at where it all begins. I'm slowly learning. Thanks again. ![]() Why take life seriously... You never come out alive!! |
