Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Glenn and all the forum members ,

What an inspiring year it has been ,,so many innovative and inspiring new ideas,, A big Thank You to all those great minds out there ,and feedback ,,sort of polishes off the sometimes rough edges.

electronics have developed in the Capacitor field, switching area and further thought will be with the MPPT area for sure. Other electronic Gismo's have had lots of discussion also.

The Blade section has come a long way ,thanks to Trev and Glenn, excellant work there with Glenn's CNC beast.
The re-configuration of the standard stators is taking off with some interesting developements-7 phase:3 phase; star/Delta switching Etc.

Trev's electric vehicle developement shows how a backyarder can be so professional ,Great work.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all the forum members and their families a great Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year-If you are going away ,take care on the roads and in the water.

Cheers

Thanks Bruce.

Personally, 2007 has been a long year for me. 12 months without a smoke, only those who have given up could understand what I've been though. But I know the next year will be a lot easier.

2007 also saw a career change, from a high paying IT job to a lower paid machine operator. But I was very tired of IT, there was no reward in the job, and dont regret the change even if it means I'm over $200 less in the pay packet a week. I enjoy operating the laser cutter, and it means I can slip thought the occasional job for myself. The 6 month break from IT as given me a chance to "reboot", and I've been approached to work on a few software projects, all business management related. Hopefully it will work out and I can earn some spending money.

The web site has grown. Traffic for November 2007 is 3 times November 2006! I do need to organise the site better, there is so much info there its easy to get lost. I would like to add more content from you guys, pictures and stories about your own windmills, so send them in.

I think the last 18 months has seen the F&P mature as a windmill alternator. 7 phase cogless re-wire, output power increased with caps, flatter power curves with staggered connections. I think the next few months will see the Aeromag configurations applied to the F&P, giving the same results as my staggered connection without the extra rectifiers. And I have to mention the MPPT discussions, with its troubled childhood. I'm sure in time the MPPT threads will develop into something worthwhile.

The forums could not have become what they are without the input from you guys. To those of you who have contributed so much of your time, expertise and even your crazy idea's, I just want you to know how much I appreciate your effort. Thank you.

Special mention this year go's to KiwiJohn. He has posted over 304 messages, second only to Bruce and myself, and we can never forget his efforts in sending a couple of F&P's to Vasi in Romania. Well done John.

So Merry Christmas, and a happy new year to everyone.

Regards
Glenn

Gee thanks Glenn, I dont really know what to say! It was of course all my pleasure to send the parcel to Vasi and once again I would like to thank all of our little community here that contributed so much to the cause that Vasi actually got two F&Ps for his projects!

Yes, a special year for me too.

Me, and my family and my friends, we all remaining amazed by KiwiJohn action (sending those F&P's to me) and the support from the ANZACS Team (new members, see this topic ). Thank you again my friends!

Gill, sorry my friend, is time to "unmask" you. From you I have PICAXE08M chip and the rest of pieces. So, my controller was possible with your help. Thank you!

Happy New Year to all!

Also to you, Amanda. Here is still a DIY place, please reconsider.

And to you, Gordon. I know you respect this DIY world as much we respect you.

P.S.
John, I repaired that coil, and configured as staggered stator, I gathered pipes for mast, little problems with the hub but I will post pictures to show a possible solution. Edited by vasi 2007-12-27

Merry Christmas and a windy New Year to all.

Bruce & Glenn, great summaries of the years activities. A great read, I can't think of anything left out.

Vasi, no worries mate. Felt a little guilty of not including the items in the original package. Had thought you might need little extras but I am often slow working out solutions. Thanks to John really, so glad you appreciate all the items from the bottom of the world.

Thanks to all on the forum. You have inspired me to go in directions I might never have found myself.

Keep the ideas flowing and am looking forward to reports and pictures of many successes in 2008. Where even our disasters are worth while.

Thank You & Seasons Greetings
was working fine... til the smoke got out.
