Hiya Guy's,
About a month ago a local bloke organised a local street fire meeting where the cfs went on about fire safety. Anyway I mentioned to a few people about making a dual axial flux wind genny. Today I went a helped the guy out to suggest how to make how make a dunlite tower into a tiltup tower. Anyway the report he gave me back on the interest of the dual axial flux genny generated over that simple suggestion is quite simply amazing.

I know this isn't in the flavour of the F&P but as Glenn has suggested all flavours of R.E. should and can be discussed on this forum.

Anyway for local guy's in SA I'll be holding an info night in the near future up here at Kanmantoo so any locals who want to come are welcome.

I already have a good source for the magnet wire and for the neo's I found a site in the US can do a great deal. On Monday I'll get a price on getting the steel disc's laser cut and my mate is going to source the vynal ester expoxy and the S.S. banding.

I'm currently talking with DanB over the possibilty of holding a course here in Oz where DanB,DanF and Rich would come over and do a 6 day course. The course will only be for 15 people and be similar to the one's they currently do. To get Hugh Piggot over aswell is an option but the number might need to increase to accomadate the extra expense. No real $$$ figure has been placed but I think $1,000 per person will cover all the expense's.

I know 98% will shun at the $1,000 figure just to attend a 6 day course but to get the knowledge straight from the horses mouth is irreplacable.

Anyway thats all for now

Cheers Bryan

Sound interresting.

Yeah I dont have any problems with promoting this sort of thing. And if you do get the guys from the US or Hugh from Scotland to visit I would be interresting in visiting just to say hi. And it would be a good chance to show off the F&P work us Ozies we've done.

When you get a price on the laser cutting let me know, I might be able to do better.

Hi Bryan,

Great action!

Material resources are vital for adopting axial flux design . I am interested in a Ozie analyze of this type of design compared to F&P. Also, the opinion (impression) of the Otherpower guys about F&P as Glenn said. Is an unique opportunity (very important for future DIY projects on Internet - imagine, something as F&P as project on Otherpower ). Take pictures from the event as much as you can.

I don't think here will be courses. With so many friends around, every day and night will be a party Edited by vasi 2008-01-16
