Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi all.

This morning we've had some serious rain in Mackay ( Queensland, Australia. My home town and the home of TheBackShed.com ). In fact we have slashed any previous rainfall records. In six hours we had over 600mm of rain, thats 24 inches, or 4 inches per hour.

Most of Mackay has been flooded, with hundreds of homes and businesses going under. My own workplace has been lucky, with only a couple of inches of water across the floor. The laser cutter is above this, but the office computers have been flooded so I'll have to pull them apart to see if I can recover the HD's. I have a mate who owns a printing business, and I've heard its gone under with printers worth $100,000's under water.

I've been lucky so far, I'm on a hill and its stayed together. But I cant get into town, all the roads are closed.

Power and communications have been off and on all day, so thought I better let everyone know that if the web site does go off air, dont worry, I'll try to get it back up as soon as possible but it may be down for minutes or days.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.
