Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Are you anywhere near a Dick Smith store? Here's a cheap multimeter with a frequency meter that will work for what you want.

Has anybody worked out a way to use the original hall sensors on the little board that are inserted near the F&P stator coils? I tried to trace out the related parts on the PCB where the sensors plug in but that did not make a lot of sense.
These sensors would be a neater way to measure RPM than trying to interpret AC frequencies IMO.
