nice link - thanks.

I just love the look of those old white or purple ceramic DIL packages with the bonded gold legs... big boys 'lectrics

I have been watching a lot of reverse-engineering vids of chips in the past couple of weeks, there seems to be a definite move towards this fairly industrious home-brew, people not satisfied (as am I) to simply use the damned thing, they wanna get inside and see the individual transistors etc.

Yes.  Very expensive I would say.  Done more as a labour of love then anything else I would say.  But hey - if you have the cash....
