Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

That pic had me going to check on a little one that I have stacked away. Unfortunately I can't join this club, it's an old Zotac.

Perhaps a nice alternative for Windows users:
Installing WINUX so you don't have to
UBuntu based KDE Desktop with Windows Style scheme

Pure evil. Lull the poor user into a false sense of security then lose him/her in Linux. I like it. :)

That's a big computer by my standards. i5 3.3GHz, 8GB.

This current "poshest" one has a 2GHz 2-core Celeron, but still 8GB of RAM. 128MB (shared RAM) integrated intel graphics. I'm not used to such luxury as Xeon. :)

I tried a recommended drone simulator a couple of weeks ago. Totally unplayable even at absolute minimum quality graphics.

Well went to start my shed computer this morning and it wouldn't boot and finally got into the BIOS so I could a HD check which passed and doing a restart just left it for 10 minutes to see if would finally boot which it finally did.

Now one thing I did notice the Ethernet was going rampant in standby mode so one does have wonder was it talking to big brother.

If you're happy with that Dell you might want to add more RAM.

Depends how many things you like on the go at once...

Adding RAM? Are you out of your mind? He'd need a mortgage for that!  ;)

Looks not much money for another 8GB.

The existing 8GB will be enough unless wanting lots of browser tabs or building C stuff etc.

I think there's only one pci memory slot so I'd need 16G ram module. My other HP mini pc is 2 inch bigger case and has 4 pci ram slots so I upgraded it to 14G with salvaged ram.

14GB? Quick, sell it to a AI factory for £1000. :)

I've never seen that much RAM in one place, never mind in one PC. lol  I only upgraded from a 4GB machine recently. I haven't got anything other than that old Zotac that can take a graphics card either.
