Hi All On the sides of the green covers are stickers showing addresses from all over Southern Australia. I visit lots of "Junk Steel" and machinery places including electrical outlets. I would smell one of these units if it was anywhere South of Adelaide. However keep trying. At this stage it is planned that everyone should get at least 1 given I get most of them looking and performing well. Regards Dennis L |

Evaporative air conditioners are common in South Australia. They work quite well with low humidity. If air conditioning contractors could be a source of old units I would not know. However it seems there are enough people in this forum that now have access to a motor that how well they will work should be able to be assessed. Should the larger motors be good for over a Kw? All I can suggest is be careful and don’t get a shock. Don |

I'm a newcomer, but if it is still possible I would like to buy three or four of these Seeley motors. Dennis ... Could you reply to me in this forum, please? Regards, RonS Avoid strong drink. It makes you shoot at tax collectors ...and miss. |

Hi All Still have 2/1500 watt, 4/750 watt, 1/550 watt and 2/500 watt motors available. They have been cleaned, checked and are boxed up ready to go at $45 each plus postage.Phone me at the above number if you want a couple. Of further interest to those who already have there units. I have found some new galvanized pipe which can be easily modified to fit the somewhat difficult mount inside the green covers. There is no lathe or welding work required and the 41 mm , $6.50 pipe goes right through the unit in one 2200 metre length. Strong, cheap and simple as. If there is sufficient interest I can cut these pipes in half modify them a bit and make up some kits including spacers which I can post out |

Hi dennis, can you post a pic of the pipe and how it goes through the motor? |

Hi Dennis, sounds good. If the pipe goes right through, then the centre shaft fitted needs to be unscrewed on one side and cut on the other and refitted to the new pipe. Is that the plan? Also I saw on another thread the 1500 watt units have bigger magnets. I had a look at mine and the 500 and 1500 look identical, is that right? Central Victorian highlands |

Hello guys,, yes, I found that the magnets on the 1500 watter were 10mm longer than the 500 watter. --But I really didn't see any difference in the dimensions of the plastic covers. So dunno, someone will see it. I'm starting to think brushes and turn the stator-- would be nice to easily hold that very big green moulding on your windmill platform. also leave the original bearings there to support the stator while turning ,,plus,, add another 2 bearings on the "through" shaft to support the blades-that would make 4 bearings on the shaft -heaps of strength, and... no stress on the stator .. Spoke to a motor re-winder yesterday ,he suggests unwinding to get to the 'starts and finishes" .he reckons these stators ARE hand wound-wow, what a job. I've unwound a faulty one to see how difficult it is --no problem,,just a fair amount of time required, and possibly new wire required... Bruce Bushboy |

Hi Dennis Was just wondering if my late discovery of this forum & it's associated web site has meant that I have missed out on being able to acquire one of these motors? Or is there still a possibility, one month after you originally obtained some, that you may be able to get your hands on some in future? Hope the "wreckers" are happy to keep everyone else happy. |
