Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Are there currency exchange issues with sending AU dollars to New Zealand?
Seems a good idea.

I am sure there would be no problem with the amounts we are talking about here but if it gives anyone concerns you could ask your bank to change it for a NZ note and send that.
I am in for $10, sent it this arvo.
Could i suggest if too much money turns up, just keep filling the box till the postie says stop? I was scared silly the first time i chopped up a stator and the thought that i had a spare went a long way.
Having heard what Trv has been up to I thought i would invite any one in the area to my bit of madnes in the Adelaide hills ://itshare. org.au explains it, we have just sent a 40ft container of very groovey computer gear to PNG and are about to send some geeks to set it all up.bbqs are almost a daily event as a shared lunch in the park next to us and F&P bits are laying about as you cant have many soap challenged hippie geeks hanging around before some one pulls out a stepper motor for discussion and distraction from computers
cheers
Lyn
Is all cool I have even had people refuse to talk to me on the phone because i was a bloke and not the woman they thought they should be talking to.But back to the subject is there a chance we might get two stators in the box?
it looks like I am about to be employed again (after only 2 dole forms) so can chuck in a bit more if need be

Yea, I will look at putting in two stators, I might do a revised measure and weigh tomorrow and see what the second stator would add to the cost.

Was thinking if just a little bit left over but not enough for postage of 2 F&P, then maybe some electronic bits would be handy. eg. 3 bridge rect, a couple of mosfets and a Picaxe08M(the basics of a DIY rectifier and shunt regulator)?
Maybe?was working fine... til the smoke got out.

Another four cards received today!
Thanks to:
Gill
Trev, Marcy and Dale at Foundry+Fibreglass
Allan Smith
and Herb.
Thanks to everyone supporting me on this, I had intended to post this weekend but I have been called away so it wont happen until about Tuesday of next week. If you have a card in the mail or even if you would still like to send something in the next couple of days it should arrive in time to be included in the parcel to Vasi.

Hi KiwiJohn,
Not sure if you have thought of it, but in our experience we find that clothing makes good packing. We have good 2nd hand clothing stores in Australia - cheap too. Vasi may wear it, or someone he knows. Or else good grease rags. Just a thought...... see if there is more cash than needed for postage.

KiwiJohn,
I should have said too that any clothing is 'packing'. You don't have to declare to customs what is used for packing. And there should be no customs duty ($$) in any country on packing. But clothing could have custom duty.
Here is our packing boxes sent to Kirabati. We taught some locals how to make it.
