Hi Barry, It appears then that you don't have v4.6b/B which you need for your DS RTC to work with the built-in RTC commands. If you can upgrade to v4.6b/B somehow then all should be resolved. Maybe another call into Grogs?? Check the two MicroMites he supplied you (i.e. the heart-transplanted 44pinner as well as the 28pinner). Maybe one of these two has v4.6B/b (worth a quick check). If you only have 4.6(a) then maybe time to buy a PicKit3!!! WW |

Connect up your MM to Tera-Term so you can type and it shows up on the computer screen. Now, reset the MM using the button on WW's module, or by just using a jumper wire to momentarily short pin-1 of the 28 chip to deck.(ground). This will reset the MM, and the startup prompt will show in Tera-Term. You should be able to read exactly what version it is, off that startup prompt. I was pretty sure I gave you version 4.6B, but perhaps I was having a blonde moment that day....
EDIT: Found the version I flashed into banda's chips - 4.6 B16 This may be an old version. I have downloaded the latest one from Geoff's site, have flashed another chip, and it's on it's way to you, banda. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

We might be getting some confusion between Ver B6 betas (e.g. like B16) and the latest Ver V6B (or V6b) which aren't betas. Greg |

Just to let helpers know, All is fine now. I now have v 4.6b, and my DS3232 is working well. The beginner in me got confused with the various 4.6 variations, but I think I've nailed it now. Thanks everyone. Banda |

Excellent. I am always on the lookout for bugs and for a while that looked like a bug. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |
