@dj44, for a little nice Southern Cross windmill, you can use a bicycle wheel. And you can make it looks like a real one. Good luck.

@dj44, when you make a windmill as a decoration, you don't need all the details. Is enought to look like and spin on winds. The details needed to run it, you can "steal" from a windmill from this site

Do it and I will like to see it if you want to share your project.

Southern cross windmill gearbox is made by the company call "Large Foundry" Toowoomba QLD and others some parts also made various of manufacture company around this Toowoomba area .
